Kangyuan Medical fully launched the 5S management and lean improvement special action

In response to the high-quality development requirements of the medical device industry, Haiyan Kangyuan Medical Instrument Co., Ltd. fully launched the special action of "5S field management and lean improvement system" on March 28, 2025, and strives to create a modern production management system of "environmental standardization, high efficiency and quality stabilization" to establish a benchmark for management innovation in the industry.

 

In the face of the strict requirements of cleanliness and compliance in the medical device industry and the ever-expanding market demand, Kangyuan Medical has established a two-wheel drive strategy of "5S field management standardization + lean improvement system" by introducing a modern production management system. It is planned to achieve the goal of improving production capacity, reducing product defect rate, improving product delivery time and strengthening product quality stability for tracheal intubation workshop, sputum suction tube workshop, foley catheter workshop, stomach tube throat cover workshop and other workshops in this year.

This special action was led by Kangyuan Medical management to set up a special leading group, coordinate resource allocation and progress supervision, and set up three implementation units: 5S promotion, lean improvement, and publicity guarantee. Among them, 5S management is divided into 9 responsibility areas according to the production area, and the workshop director responsibility system is implemented. Lean improvement is divided into three key groups: production, technology and quality management, and cross-functional teams are formed by the backbone of each department. The publicity support group is responsible for corporate culture communication and achievement promotion, forming a complete closed loop of "planning-implement-feedback".

This special action will be implemented in four stages:

Launch meeting +5S and Lean improvement training (March) : Complete the special action promotion, 5S and lean improvement training for all staff and sign the commitment letter. At the launch meeting, the employee representatives solemnly swore and signed the "5S and Lean Improvement Commitment" to collectively commit to gather consensus on change and clarify the responsibility positioning of "everyone is the protagonist of improvement".
5S Improvement Month (April) : all responsibility areas carry out self-inspection and implement improvement, and establish a visual standard system through cross-point inspection and PDCA continuous optimization. Production supervisor develops new 5S standard and posts it on site.
Regular implementation (since May) : implement the mechanism of "daily inspection of senior executives + monthly review + performance commendation", link the improvement results with performance appraisal according to the improvement in quality, cost, delivery time, safety, environment, operability and other aspects, incorporate the improvement results into regular management, and form a continuous improvement culture with full participation.
Quarterly and annual commendation: Establish the mobile red flag system of "5S standard workshop", hold commendation activities and issue mobile red flag and bonus every quarter, and issue certificates and bonuses of "5S Benchmarking team" and "Lean Star" at the annual meeting.

The management reform will cover more than 300 employees in production, technology and quality, and strive to build a modern production management system with industry demonstration effect.
